Welcome to my Comic Book Collection Web site.
Purpose
There is no real purpose other than to share my comic book collection with anyone who might be interested in looking at comic books. I'm not a seller so none of the comic books are necessarily for sale. I say 'necessarily' because you never say never if some 'offer I can't refuse' type comes along.
Collecting Background
My collecting habit started back in 1964 when I was 10. Discovering Marvel comics is what put the hook into me. I think I first became aware of Marvel when I read Fantastic Four #26 while waiting to get a haircut in a barber shop. That comic was so memorable. It had the Avengers and Hulk on the cover and had a great story. But it was reading the first Spider-Man that sealed the deal. It was Amazing Spider-Man #17. It’s still one of my favorite Spider-Man books. Then beginning around 1971, I started going to yearly comic book conventions. At one of the first conventions, I bought Spider-Man #1 for $17 and #2 for $9. I still have those two books. The yearly convention visits continued through the 70s, 80s and 90s. There was one dealer I remember the most. His name was Michael Goldman of Motor City comics. I remember him because he always had the highest class of books. I bought the Northland Spider-Man #28 from him. In the late 90s, it was considered news worthy what I paid. Comiclink made mention of it on their website.
Collection Specialty
The emphasis of my collection is Marvel silver to bronze age. I collected most all of the silver age titles. I had to be more selective in the Bronze age due to the number of titles being produced. This site will primarily concentrate on silver age.
This site is a work in progress. Will be adding more comics periodically.
